Our Team

A great rodeo can not be done without qualified personnel to keep everything running professionally and safely. The Rawhide Rodeo Company strives to hire the most professional, dedicated personnel which helps to separate us from the rest. Look for members of our team at our next rodeo!

Radical Ryan RodriguezWhen it comes to 'Putting the Bling in the Rodeo Ring!', Ryan has no problem doing just that. Radical Ryan Rodriguez has been entertaining fans since 1992 when he made a commitment to his dream of becoming a Professional Clown and Barrelman.

One of Ryan's biggest accomplishments since he started being a full-time rodeo clown was winning the International Professional Rodeo Association's Clown and Barrelman of the Year award in both 1999 and 2000. He has since joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association, where he continues to achieve great success.

Ryan has been entertaining all over North America in such prestigious events as
the Calgary Stampede held in Alberta Canada in 2001-2003, which is the world's largest rodeo with over 1.5 million in attendance. He has also been to the Omaha Pace Picante Tour Finals in Las Vegas; twice to the Salinas rodeo in California; Dodge World's Toughest Tour; Denver Stock Show and Rodeo; PBR events in both the US and Canada; and five times Circuit Finals Clown to name only a few! A favourite with fans, Ryan has also been entertaining at the St-Tite Western Festival held in September each year for eight years.

Ryan has made entertaining people and promoting the sport of rodeo a way of life. Ryan once said "I would work 365 days a year if I could. I love what I do and enjoy making people laugh. It never seems like work when you are making your dreams come true."

Greg SimasIn one of life's happy accidents, rodeo announcing found Greg Simas. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Greg was a bull rider for the Military Rodeo Cowboys Association in the early 1990's. In 1999 he was honorably discharged and by 2000 he had gotten on his last bull.

But Greg loved rodeo and still attended weekly jackpots with his friends in Union Bridge, Maryland. One night the rodeo announcer was sick, and the ranch foreman asked Greg to fill in. "Since it was a small deal with maybe 50 spectators and 20 contestants, I didn't have a problem with it and grabbed the mic," he recalls. After that, he was asked to announce a few more events, and figured that would be the end of his announcing career.

In 2002, however, calls started coming in, and at that point, Greg quit his 'day' job and started rodeo announcing full time. Since then, he's quickly amassed some impressive credits. He has announced the American Finals Rodeo five times, the Pennsylvania High School Rodeo Finals five times, and was the IFR Oklahoma City Showcase Champion announcer in 2006. Also in 2006, he turned pro with the PRCA.

At this point, Greg is announcing at over 110 performances a year. Greg announced the International Finals Rodeo 37 in Oklahoma City, OK this past January and has been selected to announce the 2007 Dodge First Frontier Circuit Finals Rodeo. In July of this year Greg will be calling the action for the second time at the National High School Finals Rodeo, in Springfield, IL. Greg is a dad to four year old son Tyler James and lives in Danville, Pennsylvania.

Canadian Cowgirls

Flags flying proudly in the wind, the sound of thundering hooves...the proudly patriotic Canadian Cowgirls burst into the arena with a presence that brings the audience to their feet!

Since 2003, the Canadian Cowgirls musical performances have been dazzling audiences with their precision riding, stunning costumes, and dangerous and daring maneuvers. They are an elite rodeo-style precision drill team that hails from Chatham-Kent, Ontario Canada, and consists of 16 spectacular women and brilliant horses who are all tied together by a common bond – Pride in being Canadian. Their strong sense of family, fellowship, and community is what connects them with their audience and reaches out, resonates, and reminds us what it is to be Canadian! The brave and beautiful horses on their team are just as diverse as the country they represent, with a variety of different breeds including the Quarter Horse, Appaloosa, Arabian, Paint, and the dependable grade horse.

Most importantly, the Canadian Cowgirls know how the symbolic grace and beauty of the horse uplifts and inspires the soul, and have made it their aim to share this experience with others. For this reason they have designated the Acceptional Riders Therapeutic Riding Program as their charity of choice and donate many volunteer hours to give a leg-up to riders in need. Paul BondsPaul Bonds has a great resume when it comes to being a professional bullfighter. Hailing from Oklahoma City, OK and spending almost all year on the road travelling from rodeo to rodeo, dedication and hard work have put Paul to the top of his field. He trains about 18 to 22 hours a week, covering 300-500 miles a week on his bike.

Paul has been voted into the International Finals Rodeo seven times and was the IFR Bullfighting World Champion in 1998. Paul's other accomplishments include fighting Rawhide Rodeo's own 2006 & 2007 Extreme Tour events held in London, Ontario; the Professional Canadian Bull Riders (PCB) Finals in 2007; the 2007 National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) held in Gillette, Wyoming; and numerous Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events in both the USA and Canada.

Paul's pride and skill in protecting bull riders and his enthusiasm towards entertaining the crowd are what make him a favourite with fans (especially at the St-Tite Western Festival where he has movie star status!), and as always, an important fixture with the Rawhide Rodeo Company.
