The Rawhide Rodeo Company started 2009 in an honourable fashion after it was announced on January 18th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that they had won the Triple Crown of stock awards in the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA).
Each year the top fifteen cowboys in each of the rough stock riding events from the IPRA vote on stock from across North America to determine the Bareback Bronc, Saddle Bronc and Bull of the year. These votes are tallied and three World Champion animal athletes are crowned from over a thousand eligible contenders.
This year for the first time ever, the top fifteen cowboys bestowed these honours to three tremendous specimens all from the Rawhide Rodeo Company! In addition to this, nineteen other animals were selected for the International Finals Rodeo as part of the elite competition.
In addition to these awards, #189 Pale Face was selected Bucking Bull of the Finals after 2008 World Champion Bull Rider, Cory Atwell, posted an IPRA Finals' high of 88 points to win the night's event!
For over 22 years, the Rawhide Rodeo Company has prided itself on the quality of livestock it provides at all of their events. They would also like to thank all of the contestants from the United States and Canada for their attendance and honouring them with this unprecedented distinction.

This horse is generally bucked left hand delivery and jumps extremely high and kicks very hard. He was also named Bareback Horse of the St-Tite Western Rodeo held in Quebec Canada (ten times Outdoor Rodeo of the Year).

Mardi Gras #N35
Mardi Gras may be one of the most popular horses in rodeo and has won numerous awards. This horse has competed across North America and has always been a bronc rider's favourite. He has competed at some of the largest shows in Canada. He has competed at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and the International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma on more than one occasion!
This bay gelding is now a veteran eighteen year old.
Many cowboys and spectators are looking forward to once again seeing this treasured athlete perform at their Rawhide Rodeo in 2009!
World Champion Bucking Bull
Bloody Sunday #228
For two consecutive years, Bloody Sunday has been the undisputed bucking bull of the IPRA. This six year old, red Brahma cross was born and bred in Seba Beach Alberta at the ranch of renowned bull breeder, Wayne Chausse, and was acquired as a three year old in efforts by the Rawhide Rodeo Company to improve their bull herd.
Bloody is currently travelling this winter on the PBR circuit where many of his brothers have already found success, including the 2008 Daisy Rookie Bucking Bull of the Year, Unabomber.
The Rawhide Rodeo Company will be looking to continue this tremendous pedigree by making Bloody Sunday a father of the next generation of bucking calves in the not too distant future!
