Still The Best! - International Awards
2007 was an exciting year for the Rawhide Rodeo Company. After over 150 individual rodeo and rodeo related performances in sixteen different States and Provinces, the Rawhide Rodeo Company was once again recognized as one of the largest leaders in the sport of Rodeo.
In addition to many regional awards, the Rawhide Rodeo Company was proud to win both rodeo and stock awards from the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA). Such prestigious awards included the 2007 Outdoor Rodeo of the Year Award for St-Tite, Quebec; 2007 Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year for #139 Tax Man, and 2007 Bucking Bull of the Year for #228 Bloody Sunday, all awarded in Oklahoma City in January.
2007 Outdoor Rodeo of the Year
This is the eighth consecutive time that the Rawhide Rodeo Company has received the 'Outdoor Rodeo of the Year' distinction. With over 400 rodeos across Canada and the United States to choose from, we would like to thank everyone for selecting St-Tite and to all those that help to make this event so successful year after year!
2007 St-Tite Facts
• 2007 was the 40th Anniversary of this event
• Festival attendance exceeded 726,000 people (record)
• Prize money awarded to contestants was in excess of $200,000 (record)

2007 Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year
With so much of Rawhide Rodeo's history being forged out of their experiences as contestants in the saddle bronc riding event, the Rawhide Rodeo Company was elated with the news that they had once again won the Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year award against a field that included so many great equine athletes. This award will make #139 Tax Man a two time (reigning) champion saddle bronc horse.
Some of the highlights of this stout paint horse's year included an over 90% buck-off ratio, and having the likes of three time world Champion Dan Mortensen take his turn attempting to ride him for 8 seconds in 2007 (Dan was 84 points!).
2007 Bucking Bull of the Year
History was made in 2007 when for the first time in history the Bucking Bull of the Year honours went to a bull that resided in the Canadian bull string of the Rawhide Rodeo Company. This award marked not only the first time this award went North, but also the first time that the Rawhide Rodeo Company won this award in their twenty years of rodeo.
#228 Bloody Sunday was purchased from a breeding program in Alberta Canada and was used in a multitude of professional rodeo events and PBR's throughout the 2007 season. The highlights of this five year old's year included a buck-off ratio of over 93%, bucking off multiple World and Regional Champions along the way. Thank you again for all those that selected this Bloody Sunday out of such an illustrious field of bucking bovine!
